Thanks to Protect-A-Bed (who provided the product), I was able to to review their Premium Mattress Protector.

Did you know that your body can lose up to 2 pints of moisture for every 8 hours you sleep? This moisture is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria and dust mites.  Many people don’t realize their mattress is one of the largest sources of allergens in their home, because over time, mattresses collect and absorb dust mites, bacteria, bodily fluids, skin cells, etc. In fact, it’s estimated that more than 2 million dust mites live in unprotected mattresses, and many people are allergic to their feces, which is left behind within mattresses and pillows. Kinda gross, I know. Now I know why my allergies got worse when I went to bed.

Protect-A-Bed mattress protectors provide an impermeable barrier between you and the dust mites and allergens within your bedding, while remaining breathable and comfortable. The ultra-thin, extra soft and super absorbent mattress protectors will not detract from the comfort of your bedding, and they are easy-to-use and machine washable. So say goodbye to a wet mattress due to accidents!

I actually tested the “wet mattress theory” with a spray bottle. I sprayed a small area twice. I was surprised when I lifted the mattress protector. It was virtually dry! While the terry cloth upper was wet, you couldn’t tell it came from the same bed!

As a sufferer of allergies, I have noticed a difference in my breathing at night. Besides a terry cloth cover, it’s relatively cool at night is is remarkably comfortable.

You can find more information about the complete range of products they offer at www.protectabed.com.

Today, I received a package. I think it was from either FedEx or UPS. I wasn’t in the living room. I had received a product for which I can review and then maybe hold a giveaway for.

Since I have a cold, this item would be the perfect product to review and giveaway. I’m not going to tell you what the product is because where would the fun be if I just said what it was and blow the surprise of the review? I know I am not making sense. I have taken cold medicine and it usually makes me feel sleepy. When I am sleepy on cold medicine, my brain doesn’t want to work. But is that anything abnormal? Not really. But once I feel better enough to actually write an intelligent sentence that makes sense, I’ll review the product. Maybe I’ll feel better tomorrow.

I haven’t really been sleeping well. I took a nap last night and ended up staying awake until about 1:45am. Then I proceeded to awaken at 9:45am this morning. I took a 30-minute nap this afternoon but I heard the bedroom door open twice in 10 minutes without anyone walking into the room. Seeing as this isn’t normal unless I am extremely sick, I got out of bed because I figured somebody needed me to be awake. In a way, I really wasn’t needed. They were just going to inform me that Dad had left to get pizza. I like pizza more than the next person. I was hungry but I was also tired so I could’ve stayed in bed and eaten the pizza- even if it was cold. Hell, I like cold pizza. Perhaps I’ll go to bed early tonight and sleep through the next morning. I like that idea a lot.

A whole lot, in fact.

Inside my dreams… April 17, 2009

I have some weird dreams. I mean really weird dreams. It could be scary dreams, funny dreams, or dreams that make no sense- as I’m sure we all do. But in the past, I had previously had dreams of country singer Chris Cagle. I love Chris Cagle, think he is the sexiest country singer there is, and know every single one of his songs by heart. Yea, I love him.

Last night, he entered my dreams once again. What was the dream? “It was my birthday so I had entered his fan club just because I loved his music. We went to some place on vacation where we found out that it was where all the fan club stuff was sent to those who had signed up. If I’m correct, it came with 2 cards with like biographical information (height, weight, favorite color, etc.), a cute teddy bear, a t-shirt, and other items I can’t remember. Not long after walking out of the building, I saw Chris Cagle and 2 assistants getting into a boat. The lady, who I guess was the manager, turned around and said “Chris is here for a little while. For those who are in ear-shot of this, feel free to come into the boat and spent a couple of hours with Chris.”. So we all got into the boat and I was 2nd for an autograph and when he asked me my name, I could only squeak out “Angela- and it’s my birthday”. We had fun. I was able to sit next to Chris most of the time (while almost peeing my pants in my sleep), and just have a great time!”

I have not dreamed of Chris Cagle in what seems forever. The last time I dreamed of Chris Cagle, I was meeting him and got a poster of mine autographed. Sure, I would LOVE to meet Chris Cagle in real life. Hell, I’ve met Pat Green, Cory Morrow, Emerson Drive, and Blake Shelton in real life- why can’t I just meet Chris Cagle? And masybe profess my undying love for him- JUST KIDDING! I would love to eventually meet Chris Cagle. Maybe when I least expect it. One can wish, right?

The night before, I had fallen ill with what seemed like my cold had settled into my chest. I was terribly sick and on top of that I had no cigarettes. So a cold and no nicotine really made for a crappy day. I hadn’t gotten much sleep lately so I was pretty worn out but I didn’t realize it.

After me, Manders, and Zeus ran a couple of errands, I came home to just lay down. I had no intention of taking a nap. I started watching TV until the next thing I knew, I woke up and another TV show was on. This was only after like 20 minutes at like 7pm. I had fallen asleep! But I couldn’t keep my eyes open so I knew I had to take a nap- took my glasses off and rolled over. I woke up again and the room was dark. I looked at the clock: 1am! Wow, I musta been tired. But it didn’t stop there- I fell back asleep. I woke up about 6am because I felt Smokie laying on top of me and I needed to roll over. I had been alsleep for 12 hours! Now that’s a record! I didn’t realize I had been so tired. But that also meant 12 hours without food or water (ok, much longer since I didn’t eat hardly anything yesterday). So today, I will enjoy food, drink, and probably nothing much else.

So here it is 6:37am and I am naturally the only one awake. Hell, even Smokie went back to sleep. As for me, I couldn’t sleep any longer. Sure, I could try but to be honest- I am now tired of sleeping. Hell, sleeping 12 hours made me tired! But I am feeling a lot better and not as “sick” as I once was. Still a little coughing and a little stuffy nose but feeling tons better. Maybe I’ll actually finish reading Fool by Christopher Moore.

Or maybe I’ll do nothing productive. Well, atleast I know I don’t suffer from insomnia!

Once again, sleep escapes me. Yep- I have insomnia. It is almost midnight here and I am wide awake. No droopy eyes, not nodding, nothing.

I have been on Twitter, “tweeting” weather warnings for other states (and a wind advisory for my area), and pretty much other nonsense. I’ve been on Etsy, trying to find a sponsor for a giveaway. I think I might actually have one, and this time, I am about 95% sure about it. She has THE cutest stuff. I wish I was creative like that. I can’t draw (even my stick figures look sick), paint, or even mold anything with clay. I once tried to do a bat but it look like a 4-year-old did it. Not someone 20 years older than that. The only thing that resembled something close to anything was my ghost but hell- those are easy to do. Guess I’ll stick to writing and animals.

We took Zeus to the park today. It sure felt like Spring! A little humid (got some weather coming, according to our weather people) and windy, but sure felt nice. He did okay, besides trying to drag us. He has a bad habit of pulling on his leash so when we get a chance, we’re going to get him a harness (the kind that lifts his front legs a little when he tries to pull) and a thicker leash. He likes to chew on his leash so we figured a thicker leash will yield better results. Oh the cutest thing happened. There were these 2 guys with a small puppy. Zeus kind of walked up to the puppy but stopped within like 6 feet of it. He didn’t growl or bark or anything. The only barking and growling dog was the puppy, who I think was trying to intimidate Zeus. Considering Zeus has never really seen another dog up close, he did excellent. Now if only he would stop pulling on his leash and we’ll be happy.

This sucks- I’m wide awake, and even the dog with unending energy is sleeping! Woe is me.
